Our Vision

Meet Our Founder: Danielle Martin

The story of Therapy Wood began with a deeply personal vision from our founder, to create a sanctuary where children could feel at ease, connect with nature, and grow at their own pace.

About Danielle

Danielle Martin is a Qualified, HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist (BSc, 2013) with a BA in English and Education Studies. Her dual expertise gives her a deep understanding of children’s developmental needs and the challenges they may face in school.

Believing that every child deserves to learn and grow at their own pace, Danielle combines her professional training with a lifelong love of nature and horses. The Therapy Wood, nestled just outside Royal Leamington Spa, is the realisation of that vision a nurturing woodland space dedicated to outdoor, animal‑assisted occupational therapy.

Here, children can feel safe, build confidence, and thrive through the transformative power of nature and the calming presence of friendly horses and goats.

Specialist Expertise and Training

Danielle brings extensive experience and specialized, integrated training to her practice:

Danielle has worked in the NHS Children’s Integrated Disability Service, supporting children with diverse developmental and physical needs through coordinated, family‑centred care.

She has also worked in the independent sector, across specialist maintained schools, providing assessments, tailored home and school support, and training for staff and parents.

This experience has given her a strong understanding of how to bridge therapy with everyday life, helping children thrive at home, in school, and in their communities.
